OceanBlu Delivers High Performance Using Exclusive GlyTec™ Technology

DeLaval today launched OceanBlu™, the latest innovation in udder hygiene solutions. Setting a new standard for conditioning, while equaling the bacteria control of industry-proven teat dips, OceanBlu incorporates patent pending GlyTec™ technology and is formulated for pre-, post- and barrier applications. DeLaval is the only company to employ GlyTec technology in teat dips.

GlyTec is both a powerful germicide for fast control of mastitis-causing germs and an emollient–rich teat conditioner. It uses glycolic acid, a natural constituent of milk that carries no residue risk. Glycolic acid is widely used in the cosmetic industry to safely improve human skin conditioning.

The strong blue color of OceanBlu is easy to identify, adding an additional level of quality control. The barrier dip dries to a film which reactivates when wet to continue teat disinfection between milkings. OceanBlu is ready-to-use, requiring no mixing before application which saves time and reduces the need for costly equipment. Pre-post applications may be sprayed, foamed or dipped.

In-vitro laboratory studies demonstrate a greater than 5 log kill in 15 seconds for all major mastitis-causing bacteria. In reference farm trials, the fast drying barrier product also showed a reduction in bedding adhering to the udder, reducing pre-milking cleaning time.
