Dairy farmers say the crisis confronting their industry is so dire their best milk producing cows, are now worth more slaughtered and sold for meat.

Neil Mitchell spoke with dairy farmer, Jessica from Portland.
She says the harsh reality is that farmers will be sending their animals to slaughter.
“There’s going to be a lot of good quality, well bred and loved dairy cows that are going to end up as meat animals.”
“Just purley because there’s no other way.” – She told 3AW Mornings.
