Cream of the Crop Dairy Challenge

Calling all dairy youth – the fourth annual Cream of the Crop Dairy Challenge will take place in Jefferson, Wisconsin Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00am. Registration will begin at the Jefferson High School at 9:30am.

If you are preparing for a World Dairy Expo contest, have done dairy judging, dairy quiz bowl, dairy jeopardy, or just have an interest in working with dairy cattle than this is the contest for you. You and your three teammates will work together through seven stations covering registered and commercial heifers, sire selection, DairyComp 305 interpretation, dairy cattle disease identification, nutrition, and a 25 question written exam on dairy industry knowledge. There are no individual scores or oral reasons.

This one-of-a-kind contest is designed to give youth the opportunity to hone their teamwork skills in a contest that incorporates all facets of the dairy business in a real-world forum that’s interactive, educational, and fun. Aside from the opportunity to win some great awards this contest also prepares youth for collegiate and professional experiences.

A $20 team entry fee entitles youth to test their dairy knowledge, awards, and an all-you-can-eat Rocky Rococo pizza lunch. Teams can be made from any family or friends there is no rule limiting you to a single 4-H club, FFA chapter or even county. The only stipulation is that participants must not have graduated from high school prior to 2014, making most college freshman also eligible.
