Consultant Judges Named for 2019 All American Jersey Shows


The judges for the All American Jersey Shows have named their consultants for The 67th All American Jersey Shows, sponsored by the American Jersey Cattle Association of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

The largest exhibition of Registered Jersey™ cattle in the world, the three shows of The All American, will be held November 9, 10 and 11, 2019 in conjunction with the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Ky.

Grant Cope, Salem, Ohio will assist judge Keith Topp, Botkins, Ohio, at The All American Jersey Show on Monday, November 11. He operates a small dairy, Breezy Knoll, with his wife, Ann, and parents where they milk 50 cows, of which 20 are Registered Jerseys. Among his accomplishments is a homebred Excellent-95% cow, Breezy Knoll JW Missy.

Joe Price, Martinton, Ill., will serve as consultant judge to Phillip Topp, Botkins, Ohio, at the 65th National Jersey Jug Futurity on November 10. Price has judged numerous county and district shows along with the Indiana State Fair Junior Jersey Show. He owns and operates Prestige Genetics with his family where they breed elite Holsteins. He has bred numerous Excellent-scoring and champion animals with laurels at the International Holstein Show, the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and World Dairy Expo, plus over 100 All-American nominees.

The National Jersey Jug Futurity is the oldest and richest class for dairy cattle in the world. There are 259 cows currently eligible for the 2019 show. Last year, the show offered a grand total of $7,540 in premiums.

The consultant judge for The All American Junior Jersey Show on Saturday, November 9 will be Joe Rocha of Tillamook, Ore. He will assist judge Brady Core, Salvisa, Ky. Rocha operates an 800 cow Registered Jersey herd with his wife, Sarah, mother, Jody, and family. He has judged multiple dairy shows on the county and local levels. The Rocha family has exhibited at the All American Jersey Shows nearly every year since 2000. Since 2004, Rocha has continuously served on the Tillamook County Creamery Association board. He is a 1992 graduate of Cal Poly.

The first and second place winners in each class of these shows will become the 2019 All American and Reserve All American honorees of the American Jersey Cattle Association.
