Update from Laura Dufford Jackson (Patricia’s daughter and Reese’s Aunt):
We all know that this has been a long haul. One we had no idea would still be going after 2 months…but we ask each of you to please not give up. We ask each and every one of you to please not tire from our updates and pleas for prayers and positive thoughts. We are only half way there right now. We have Mom home now and adjusting so well to life on the farm again. She remains our hero and we are so happy to have her back with us. But we still have Reese fighting for her life at Johns Hopkins. This entire family still fights tirelessly along side of Reese each and every day and night. We still need your prayers and support as we continue to trudge forward. Reese is so strong and fights so hard. She is truly tough as nails. She amazes her nurses and doctors daily. She has a tough hill to climb still, this we know. But we also know she can beat this. She has had many “firsts” for Johns Hopkins…several drugs that have been tried on her that haven’t ever been tried on kids before, several procedures that haven’t been done on people on the ECMO machine…and she has withstood all of this and helped this medical profession advance with new data…but it is just time for her to heal and get well and come home to Mercersburg. Reese has improved over the last day and we need her to continue this improvement. For all of my prayer warrior friends out there, here are your specific prayers: please pray that Reese has an uneventful weekend. Pray for good blood flow to the lungs, pray for gas exchange within the lungs, pray for no machine malfunctions. Pray for her nursing and doctor staff to have the know how to continue to help her. Pray for Reese. We truly believe in the power of prayer and we believe in powerful prayers. We thrive in the scriptures that each of you send us. We hold on to the crosses that you send us. We anoint Reese with the Holy water that we were given. We pray day and night and we beg each of you to please support us by doing the same. Please do not tire, we need your support…tonight, tomorrow and until Reese wakes up laughing and can come home. Stay strong and positive for Reese
