Update from Laura Dufford Jackson (Patricia’s daughter and Reese’s Aunt) posted last night:
Mom continues to gain strength each day and push herself…her therapy helps so much and they really seem to be pushing her right now…she leaves therapy a sweaty mess so we know she is working hard! She still loves visitors so if you are in the area, stop by to say hey. Mikey seems to be back in his routine of milking and all of the day to day activities at Waverly all while making sure Mom listens to the doctors and takes it easy. Zach stays pretty close to Mom and has helped keep Brinkley and Regan busy and full of laughter.
Reese has had quite a few good days and continues to show her super strength and will to fight. It is a slow process to bring her out of sedation but one we are so ready for. Reese still has several procedures each week and we always pray for uneventful days and forward progress. Right now our wish and prayers include no infections, healing lungs and continued strength. Claire and Justin still remain so strong and so supportive of everyone around them. They support the family and friends that visit daily, the new parents that bring a child to the PICU and they stay so darn strong as they watch the new friends they have made leave with healthy kids to go home. We can’t wait for the day they walk Reese out of Johns Hopkins. Jimmy and Nina continue to keep the farm going so that Justin and Claire can stay with Reese and route her on…although on occasion the two have been able to escape home to tend to business as usual and sleep in their own bed. I have had the pleasure of keeping Brinkley the last few weeks and she keeps us all on our toes! (Hoping everyone saw our pictures from last weeks fair). I have started back to work now but still find time to visit Reese as much as I can…
We like the direction that everyone is headed right now and pray each day for progress and healing. Thanks again for the support…we still depend on it and lean on support from others daily.
