Cogent launches 2015 photo competition

Cogent Breeding Limited has announced the launch of a photography competition to find 12 beef and dairy cattle related photos for the company’s 2015 calendar under the theme of ‘Herd Highlights’.
The competition is open to all, with entries judged on their composition, creativity and originality.  There are no restrictions on what the photos can depict, as long as they illustrate an aspect of dairy or beef farming life.
The successful entrants will win a Cogent goody bag as well as the satisfaction of seeing their photo appear in Cogent’s 2015 calendar.  The overall winner of last year’s competition was Hannah Atkinson with her photo, ‘The Lonely Cow’.  Hannah’s photo was taken on an evening in the Lune Valley near Lancaster where her family milks 100 cows at Abbotson Farm.

“We know that livestock farmers take a huge amount of pride in their cattle and their role as guardians of the countryside,” explains Laura Andrews, marketing assistant for Cogent.  “This competition gives them a prime opportunity to share their favourite image of farming life and to show off their photography skills to the rest of the industry.
“We are looking forward to seeing their perspective of dairy and beef farming life and encourage entrants to be as creative and imaginative as possible.”
Photos should be submitted in a high resolution format via email to laura.andrews@cogentuk.com before 30th September 2014.
