Canadian government funds Quebec dairy growth

The funding will help the Quebec dairy company acquire new equipment and develop new products.

The company been granted the financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, to ensure its growth.

Founded in 2007, the business started production in 2010 and now has 28 employees. It produces pasteurized milk in various formats, chocolate milk, cream, butter and lactose-free milk.

The dairy has more than 270 points of sale in Outaouais (big box, grocery and corner stores) and has made some inroads in the Canadian capital, Ottawa.

New equipment and products

The funding awarded through Canadian Economic Development’s Quebec Economic Development Program will help the business acquire new equipment and develop new products.

Steven MacKinnon, Member of Parliament for Gatineau and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, said the acquisition of strategic equipment, the development of new products and the purchase of the building that houses the dairy’s facilities is good for the growth and vitality of the Gatineau and Outaouais economies.

“These investments will help our region increase its visibility in food processing, a promising economic sector here and abroad,” MacKinnon said.
