Accelerated Genetics Hires Nissen & Wright

Accelerated Genetics is pleased to announce the hiring of Katherine Nissen as GEM Coordinator and Kayla Wright as Communications Coordinator.

Nissen[1]KATHERINE NISSEN:
Nissen will be based out of Accelerated Genetics’ Administrative Headquarters in Baraboo, Wis. In this role, Nissen will manage the Genetic Evaluation Mating (GEM) program. In addition she will develop genetic audit programs that work with customers and their individual herd goals. She will manage all employee and distributor education and training for the GEM program. Further, Nissen will provide overall support to the dairy sales division.

Nissen holds a Bachelors degree in Agriculture studies with concentration in Business and Economics and a minor in Speech Communication from California State University (CSU) Stanislaus. She also is a graduate of Modesto Junior College with an Associates degree in Dairy Science and Agriculture Business.

Prior employment includes experience as an area sales representative for another major A.I. company where she developed and implemented sales routes and evaluated opportunities for increased market share. Nissen also performed genetic management services such as herd genetic audits, coding of animals for linear traits and assisted in critical selling situations.

In addition to her work experience, she served as Assistant Dairy Herdsperson on her family farm, Nissen Dairy, Inc., Escalon, Calif., as well as a dairy cattle fitter, on the side. Nissen shares her passion for the industry by serving leadership roles on the California Milk Advisory Board and California and National Holstein Associations as well as being a CSU Stanislaus Ag Ambassador.

Wright[1]KAYLA WRIGHT:
As the Communications Coordinator, Wright will be responsible for designing advertisements, directories, flyers and other promotional materials for the dairy and animal health product lines. Wright will be based out of Accelerated Genetics’ Administrative Headquarters in Baraboo, Wis.

Wright comes to Accelerated Genetics with vast experience in graphic design and photography within the agriculture industry. Growing up on a dairy farm in Johnson Creek, Wis., she has experience and knowledge of the dairy cattle business while using her marketing skills of design to showcase elite genetics.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Wright secured a bachelors degree in Marketing Communications with a minor in Dairy Science. While in college she was active in Dairy Club serving as Yearbook Editor and assisting with the Bi-Annual Falcon Premier Sale. In addition, she was on the UWRF Dairy Judging Team where she participated in three national contests.

As a junior member in the Holstein Association USA and Red and White Dairy Cattle Association, Wright was recognized for numerous achievements including: National Representative Distinguished Junior Member Award; Wisconsin and National Junior Progressive Breeder Awards; Jefferson County Outstanding Holstein Girl, Lyle Wappler Memorial Award, and the James Crowley Dairy Leadership Award.

Wright continues to own Holsteins and Red and Whites and enjoys exhibiting cattle with her family. She is currently the Secretary for the Jefferson County Holstein Association and volunteers with the Jefferson County Dairy Youth.
