US National Ayrshire Convention Canceled

The Ayrshire Breeders’ Association Board of Directors voted to cancel the National Ayrshire Convention and Grand National Ayrshire Sale to be hosted by Vermont and New Hampshire Ayrshire breeders June 30 – July 4, 2020. While this saddens us immensely, we understand the primary focus must be on the well being of our members and our communities during this unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic.

The ABA will hold its annual business meeting in a virtual-style format on Friday, July 3, 2020. Further details on the annual meeting will be available online and will be mailed with the membership ballots in May. The election of directors by ballot prior to the annual meeting will continue as in the past.

The National Ayrshire Youth Committee is brainstorming on ways to hold some of its annual contests online and by social media. They have done a fantastic job interacting with Ayrshire youth via Facebook this spring, and we look forward to their continued work with our junior members. Updates on youth activities will be posted as they are available.

The ABA Directors appreciate the work Vermont breeders have put into this convention effort. We are pleased to report the 2025 National Ayrshire Convention will be held in Vermont and hosted jointly by the ABA and Vermont and New Hampshire Ayrshire breeders to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Ayrshire Breeders’ Association.

The 2021 National Ayrshire Convention will be held in Tennessee and will honor the 10th anniversary of the US Ayrshire Breeders’ Foundation.
