The Destination Naples Sale definitely had the spotlights turned on Friday night, February 1st, as the first 40 lots sold with an average of $38,998 and sale total of $1,559,900. Tied for top selling lot at $165,000 each were two consignments from Oakfield Corners Dairy, Oakfield, NY. It was a buyer’s choice of either a Numero Uno or McCutchen from Lars-Acres Felices Fame-ET (EX-90 EX-MS). Fame was fresh in December and her first test was 118lbs. with 4.6%F and 3.5%P. She has 12/12 numbers of GTPI +2174 +255M +64F +32P +556NM +2.3PL and +3.10T. The Numero Uno choice was purchased by Elite Dairy Genomics, while the McCutchen choice was purchased by Alta Genetics. Three more lots were sold within hours of the sale held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, bringing the total to $1,627,400 and the average to $37,847 on 43 lots. Jeff Butler and Ed Fellers managed the popular destination event. Ed commented, “We had multiple buyers from all over North America for this sale. It was exciting to see the incredible level of interest in the lineup, and we predict even more lots will be sold by the end of the day today. This has become a very enthusiastic way to kick off the sales season for 2013!”
